Meet Tim and Ruger
Our founder, Tim, enjoying the great outdoors with his adventure companion and inspiration, Ruger.
As a Colorado native growing up in the mountains, living and playing in the outdoors has always been my way of life.
Over the years, my passion of being outside has translated into being a triathlete, multi-sport adventure racer, rafting guide, kayak safety boater, instructor for Rocky Mountain Adventures, ski patroller, backcountry guide, and much more!
What ties all my outdoor passions together is wilderness survival skills. I’ve spent years helping people avoid danger, mitigate risk, and deal with any problems that arise.
My first dog, Ruger, was a total game changer for me as my new adventure companion meant preparing for a new set of unknowns.
My biggest fear was that he could become injured and unable to move.
That fear inspired me to create our first product, The Back Country. A lightweight rescue harness that ensures I’ll never have to leave Ruger’s side if he is injured.
After creating The Back Country harness, I realized there was so much more I could create to help people enjoy the outdoors with their dogs — whether in nature or the city.
